Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Ortho/Trauma unit requiring stepdown and med/surg skills. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Position is on the Ortho/Trauma unit in a hospital setting - Patient care includes med/surg and stepdown level cases - Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 days per week - Patient population includes a mix of orthopedic and trauma cases - No local candidates accepted due to a 50-mile radius rule - Provide nursing care for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex - Document patient responses to care and monitor physiological data - Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures - Administer medications, monitor IV infusions and blood products - Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures - May delegate appropriate tasks to support staff - Must be able to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs - Extensions allowed up to 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required for rehire /n /n Requirements/n - Active Oklahoma or compact RN license required - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required - Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required - Experience with both stepdown and med/surg patient care required - Proficient in verbal and written communication and basic computer skills /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-671619.
