Your contribution to work that matters can be seen on shelves locally and around the world!Come be part of a team that develops the next generation of food processing technology!Check us out!Facebook LinkedIn YouTubeThe Position:The Service Technician repairs, tests, adjusts, or installs Burford equipment at customer sites.Responsibilities Include:Provide installation and setup of new equipment at customer siteRead blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation proceduresInstall and test equipment to ensure that it functions properlyProvide operation and maintenance training for customerPerform maintenance, repairs, tests or adjustments of equipment by applying mechanical and electrical knowledgeOperate and test faulty equipment to analyze and diagnose malfunctionsInspect components of equipment for accurate assembly and installation, or for defectsExamine work orders and talk to equipment operators to detect equipment issue and to determine whether mechanical or human error contributed to the problemRepair and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components, replacing worn partsPerform diagnosis, repair and functional confirmation at customer site as required by service or maintenance contractPerform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problemsProvide customers with occasional telephone support for start-up or trouble shootingAdvise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.The Perks:Full benefits including medical, dental, and visionCompany paid life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability401k and company matchPaid Time Off (including your birthday!) and paid holidaysProduct discounts across Middleby companiesRequirements:Must be able to perform basic math skillsMust have a mechanical aptitude, familiarity with tools and measuring toolsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Post-secondary education in mechanical and electrical systems, or 2 years minimum related work experienceValid Driver's LicenseAbility and willingness to travel up 70% annuallyOwn a valid passport or have the ability to get oneKnowledge and ability to utilize computers and related technology effectivelyBasic understanding of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and ExcelMust have ability to read and interpret visual aids such as drawings/ blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation proceduresDesired Skills:Familiarity with international travel experienceGood customer relations and communication skillsAbility to diagnose problems, make adjustments and test using PLC/HMI solutionsExperience in reading electrical diagrams a plusExperience in wiring control panels a plusThe ideal candidate:Has PLC programming experience (preferred)Has a willingness to learnDemonstrates a positive attitudeOther:This position is defined as a safety sensitive positionEmployment conditional on passing a pre-employment drug screen, position based physical, and criminal background checkBurford Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicantsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
