OKLAHOMA, NORMAN 73019. The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma () invites applications for an AssistantProfessor focused on Urban Governance and Sustainability. We seek a scholar with interests in urban environmental planning and governance. This may include a focus on environmental politics; risk and complexity; social vulnerability and community adaptation to climate change and/or other forcings; technology and infrastructure change; planning for sustainability; urban development; and/or environmental social movements. The position is methodologically open, and may include any mix of qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial methods. Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability: The ideal candidate will have the potential to contribute to urban-focused collaborations in our intellectually diverse department. Applicants must possess a PhD in Geography or a related discipline at time of appointment. The successful applicants will be expected to develop a vigorous, independent research program; to teach in the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability (the standard load is 2-2); and to contribute to mentorship and advisement for students in our growing graduate program. The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability is currently composed of 18 tenure-line faculty with diverse research agendas.
