Overview:

The supervisor of medical/surgical (SM/S) units assures the delivery of safe, high quality and cost effective care provided by competent co-workers within the units. He/she ensures the efficient utilization of available resources to meet productivity and financial goals. The SM/S works collaboratively and effectively with individuals throughout the ministry to enhance communication, share pertinent data and improve processes across the continuum. He/she is a leader who inspires a shared vision, demonstrating the value of change and presenting it to co-workers with enthusiasm. The SM/S models the way by setting professional standards, having a positive attitude, and engaging co-workers to become leaders of change. The SM/S holds direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The SM/S performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Licensure: Current Oklahoma licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
Experience: Two years of experience in an in-patient acute care setting
Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and PALS required. ACLS preferred.
Other: Demonstrated excellent clinical competence, interpersonal team-building, collaboration, negotiation, problem-solving, as well as spoken and written communication skills. Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Preferred Certifications: ACLS, PALS and NRP certification must be obtained prior to working in areas that require applicable certification. All certifications must be maintained in a current status.
