Overview:We have operating rooms located at the Porter campus
and the HealthPlex campus. The Porter campus has 10 operating rooms
with services ranging from urology, general, neurology, and
bariatrics. The HealthPlex campus has 6 operating rooms in the main
OR with services of orthopedics, general, and ENT, 1 hybrid room
for cardiac cases, and 3 operating rooms for GYN and Robotic cases.
Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and
critical thinking skills. We orient new nurses to all of our
surgical areas by providing a 16 week orientation with a dedicated
preceptor in which nurses learn how to circulate cases in all of

- Plans, prepares, and provides individualized peri-operative
registered nurse first assistant care utilizing the nursing
process. Directs surgery department staff in the care of the
surgical patient. RN essential functions include, but are not
limited to: collaboration with other health professionals,
assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning
care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care,
delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing
care, evaluating responses to interventions, and performing
additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and
skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Associate Degree in Nursing ( ADN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
(ADN) with Bachelor Degree in any field, or Bachelor of Science in
Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing
Successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the AORN
education standards for RNFA education programs accepted by the
Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI).
Prefer certification (CRNFA) or eligible upon hire.
Previous work history reflecting stable employment.
Letters of reference from the supervising physician(s) where the
applicant most recently practiced, attesting the RNFAs abilities
and competency preferred.
If no work experience in RNFA role, will consider previous
operating room experience and performance records.
Minimum surgical experience must be no less than two years in RN
Letter of reference from the physician mentor if the applicant is a
new RNFA graduate.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of
education and experience).
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license or active Multistate
Current Nurse of the Operating Room Certification (CNOR) or
Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA/CNOR).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) & Current Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) training is required to be maintained thru duration
of employment, if BLS/ACLS not current upon hire, must
enroll in first class available at NRHS.
