Job description *Job Title: * Medical Family Therapist *General Description: * Provides medical family therapy services within Chickasaw Nation's Department of Health clinics to ensure access to quality integrated health services, promote quality healthcare, and to help improve the overall health of patients. Functions as an embedded integrated healthcare team member by working collaboratively with Department of Health providers to comprehensively care for patients. Assists in developing and implementing program design and methods to measure program effectiveness. *Supervision Received: * Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Program Manager of Medical Family Therapy, or assigned program manager. *Supervision Exercised: * None. *Supervision Essential Job Functions: *
* Provides medical family therapy services to hospital and healthcare clinic patients * Provides family, marital, individual and group therapy in outpatient and inpatient settings. * Conducts diagnostic screenings and assessments. * Aids in formulating and implementing assessment methods to measure program effectiveness. * Documents services to maintain health records. * Assists the director in developing referrals and streamlining program processes. * Collaborates with physicians and medical providers on behalf of patients and families, and makes referrals as necessary. * Provides consultations for physicians, medical providers, mental health clinicians and other service providers. * Maintains an active fulltime patient panel and caseload of billable services, therapy-related activities and program development. * Provides crisis intervention and serves as an on-call crisis therapist during regular and irregular work hours. * Assists in developing grant proposals and implementing grant-related services. * Participates in continuing education conferences and seminars to maintain therapy skills and to increase knowledge of treatment areas. * Participates in community outreach and related events. * Maintains protocol as established by the Chickasaw Nation. * Performs all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: **Required* - Possess therapeutic skills and be comfortable in medical settings. Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in order to engage members of the medical community and other referral sources. Interpersonal and communication skills include being a team player, ability to communicate effectively with medical providers, be flexible in their work flow, and exhibit the high energy necessary to thrive in a fast pace medical environment. Be self-motivated, capable of exhibiting an adequate work ethic without close supervision, and have proficiency using Electronic Health Records for documenting and researching patient health. Be able to assist in the planning and preparation of grant proposals. Willing to work irregular hours and weekends as needed or required by job duties. Be willing to travel. *Education: **Masters Required* - A doctoral or master's degree in medical family therapy / clinical health psychology / behavioral medicine / marriage and family therapy, or an advanced post-graduate certificate in medical family therapy. A doctoral or master's degree in a closely related mental health field considered. *Education Note: **Training And Experience: **Preferred Experience* (6 months - 3 years) - Minimum of two years experience working in a medical family therapy setting. *Preferred Experience* (6 months - 3 years) - Academic coursework in medical family therapy preferred. Combinations of academic coursework and experience in medical family therapy settings considered. *Preferred Experience* (6 months - 3 years) - Experience working with Native American populations preferred. *Licenses, Certifications, Other: **Required* - Must be a currently licensed or license-eligible therapist in Oklahoma (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC-MH, LBP, or Psychologist). *Required* - Must have a valid Oklahoma driver license and safe driving record. *Physical Requirements: **Preferred* - Work in medical facilities may require considerable standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. *Required* - Possess the ability to cope with constant changes in a stressful environment. *Work Environment: *
Work is performed in the hospital, ambulatory care environment and community at large, where there is common exposure to contagious diseases. The work may also include a certain amount of exposure to challenging and emotionally distressed patients, family members, and visitors. Job Type: Full-time Benefits:
