Registered Nurse (RN) I - NICU - FT - Nights at Norman Regional
Health System summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) I position in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU) involves providing comprehensive nursing care to
critically ill newborns, collaborating with healthcare
professionals, and upholding the organization's ICARE values.
Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning,
implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes, with a focus
on family-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess an ADN or
higher, a current RN license, and demonstrated commitment to
continuous education and professional development.
Overview:
Compensation / Benefits
$27.84-$45.46/hr. depending on previous work experience.
Evening differential $2.50/hr.
Night differential $3.00/hr.
Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Norman Regional Health System Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 25
bed Level III unit with a Neonatal Ground Transport Team.
We focus on family-centered care. We have 5 Neonatologist on
staff.

Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment,
analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care
strategy,
Establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating
tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care,
Evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional
nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired
beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:
Education
Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN)
preferred.
Experience
Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
Previous work history reflecting stable employment.
If no work experience, will consider school attendance and
performance records.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of
education and experience).
Licensure / Certification
Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during
orientation prior to providing patient care.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru
re-training for duration of employment.
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training
preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training is required within 6
months of hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required to be maintained
thru re-training for duration of employment.
Other Knowledge / Skills
Must participate in Perinatal Continuing Education Program (PCEP)
when offered at that hospital.
Must complete STABLE program within 1 year of hire and maintained
if offered at NRHS.
Must attend breastfeeding classes as offered. Must attend required
teach weeks/skills fairs and participate in emergency drills while
on the job.
