Job Description:

Coverage Needed Start Date: 02/02/2026 End Date: 08/01/2026 Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week Clinical Details Provide professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care in a correctional facility Administer examinations, diagnose medical and other problems, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care Participate in treatment team meetings and direct unit treatment operations Perform minor and occasional major surgery Hold clinics for nursing specialists Maintain a good working relationship with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside provider agencies Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures Monitor inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when clinically appropriate Prepare and maintain a variety of standard narrative, statistical, summary, and/or operational records, reports, and logs Accept on-call status Attend seminars, workshops, conferences, etc., as required Provide health counseling and education on an individual or group basis Requirements Graduate from an accredited school of medicine Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment A valid driver's license is required US Citizenship required for ICE clearance Subject to thorough background and credit investigation for clearance BLS that meets compliance requirements
