sponsorships supported Position Summary The Physical Therapist (PT)
is responsible for evaluating patients and implementing medically
prescribed physical therapy treatment plans tailored to individual
needs in an acute care hospital setting. The PT conducts
comprehensive assessments, establishes appropriate goals, and
develops individualized interventions to restore function, reduce
pain, prevent disability, and promote safe mobility and
independence across diverse patient populations. Key
Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations
using appropriate tests and measures to determine functional
status, impairments, and rehabilitation potential. Develop and
implement individualized plans of care, including measurable goals,
treatment frequency, and appropriate interventions aligned with
physician orders and clinical guidelines. Deliver evidence-based
therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise,
neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, functional
mobility training, manual therapy techniques, and use of
modalities/assistive devices as appropriate. Educate patients,
families, and caregivers on diagnosis, functional limitations, safe
mobility techniques, use of assistive devices, home exercise
programs, and injury prevention strategies to support safe
discharge and continuity of care. Monitor and document patient
progress, reassess treatment plans, and update goals and
interventions based on patient response and established outcomes.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, physicians,
case management, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and others)
to coordinate care, discharge planning, and appropriate post-acute
referrals. Supervise and provide direction to physical therapist
assistants, rehab techs, students, and support personnel in
accordance with licensure, regulatory, and organizational
standards. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
within the electronic medical record, following professional,
regulatory, and payer requirements. Adhere to all applicable
safety, infection prevention, and patient handling policies and
procedures; consistently promote a safe environment for patients
and staff. Demonstrate critical thinking, sound clinical judgment,
and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity
environment, including appropriate response to changing patient
conditions. Minimum Qualifications (Must-Haves) Degree from an
accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or equivalent, per state
requirements). Current, active Physical Therapist license in the
state of Oklahoma (or eligibility to obtain prior to start). Basic
Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30
days of hire. Ability to work in a stressful environment and take
appropriate action in response to changes in patient status,
workload, and priorities. Preferred Qualifications (Nice-To-Haves)
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in
clinical decision-making. Ability to work with minimal supervision
while effectively managing a caseload and collaborating within an
interdisciplinary team. Prior acute care or hospital-based physical
therapy experience (new graduates with strong acute care clinical
