Requirements:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in the practicing state(s) or
proof of eligibility.
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy, or Masters degree in a
related field plus a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, or
Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy with 5 years of PT
experience.
- Valid drivers license or reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees,
students, and support personnel per state licensure and
professional standards.
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, timely
clinical and billing documentation, and attend work-related
meetings.
- Participate in patient care and staffing conferences.
- Refer patients to other disciplines and agencies as
needed.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate
therapeutic regimens.
- Adapt programs and care plans to meet individual patient
needs.
- Promote a safe environment and eliminate fire and safety
hazards.
- Order necessary supplies and equipment.
- Maintain, clean, and report the need for equipment
repairs.
- Ensure patients and families receive high-quality,
compassionate service.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses,
identify impairments, set treatment goals, and plan care, while
documenting all services and treatment plans, including therapeutic
exercises (aerobic, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility),
functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance,
integumentary repair, electrotherapeutic, physical agent and
mechanical modalities, health and wellness education, chronic
disease management, fall risk assessment and intervention, and case
management.
- Select activities suited to patients' physical and mental
capacities.
- Instruct patients in mobility skills and evaluate their
progress and behavior.
- Perform routine reexaminations to modify or progress treatment
plans.
- Incorporate health and wellness programming into treatment
plans.
- Conduct home and community mobility assessments and provide
safety recommendations.
