Your work will contribute to maintaining and expanding CNI's reputation as an excellent place to interview at, and to work for.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Supports the Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation and HR Business Partner Teams to ensure that the HR department is operating efficiently and properly.Maintains benefit documents (summary plan descriptions), records and reference materials, and updates and changes as needed.Maintains regulatory posters and other compliance notifications.Reconciles I-9 internal audits, E-Verify, benefit enrollments and employment verifications.Distributes annual benefit notifications.Supports FMLA Representative.Assists with job descriptions and advertising.Coordinates and manages candidate interview scheduling and ensures all candidates have a positive interviewing experience at CNI by being their main point of contact throughout their process and ensuring the interview schedule flows smoothly.Ensures an excellent candidate experience through prompt follow-up and communication throughout the candidate's life cycle from initial contact to start date.Assists in management and optimization of recruitment systems and tools, reporting and analytics, new hire document collection and employee referrals.Creates and updates candidate profiles within Workday and ensures a high standard of data integrity and confidential record keeping.Builds relationships and collaborates across HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, Operations and more.May assist with other projects as assigned.Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative / motivation, cooperation / relationships, problem analysis / discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability, flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken.Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will r eport any violations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREDAssociates degree in Human Resources management preferred, or related business field, and a minimum of one to three (1-3) years' experience in Human Resources.CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONJOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIESExperience with calendaring/scheduling and continuous improvement.Familiarity in Human Resources with modern best-of-breed tools.Self-starter with initiative, positive attitude, and passion for delivering an excellent candidate experience.Experience as first line of contact for candidates or customer service-related role.Superb attention to detail required as well as excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Word, Outlook (e-mail) and Internet.Ability to work cross functionally, perform under tight deadlines, problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
