Job Description:
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), has primary
responsibilities for specifying, designing, building, programming,
verification & validation testing, commissioning, and assisting
deployment and technical support with automated test systems. This
run operates under the supervisor of the Supervisor of Software
Quality.RESPONSIBILITIESBuild automated testing solutions to meet
Paycom goals for automated testingCreate, organize, and manage test
automation standards and other resourcesCreate, update, and
maintain automated UI testCreate, update, and maintain automated
API testsImplement automated test systems for Paycom
applicationsCollaborate with Development, Software Quality
Assurance, and DevOps teams to analyze and use quality feedback and
data to improve automated testing processesAssess existing
automated testing and suggest opportunities for improvementDocument
automation strategy and procedures for teamCreate automation test
plans and get approvalsResearch recommended test automation tools
and configure automated test environment elements.Integrate
automated tests with CI/CD tools and pipeline. (i.e.
GitLab)Collaborate with DevOps team to extend existing test
automation frameworks and toolsTriage, troubleshoot, and document
defectsWork closely with engineers and Software Quality Assurance
to manage and improve the development pipelinePerform and write
automated functional, system, regression, and integration
testsDevelop and execute manual test cases for testing of software
to expose flaws and ensure all issues are resolved before the code
is released to productionEscalate unresolved issues to the
appropriate internal teams and leadershipUtilize internal
automation tools to help teams achieve complete
automationEducation/Certification:Bachelor's degree in MIS,
Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Similar education
combinations may be considered for Bachelor's degree holders
outside of the listed majorsExperience:Must have training or
experience in one or more scripting languages and configuring test
automationExperience using SCM tools like Gitlab or
BitbucketExperience working in an agile SDLC environmentPREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Certification:Certified Test Foundation
Level (CTFL) ISTQB or ASTQB StandardCertified Tester Test
Automation Engineer (CT-TAE) ISTQB or ASTQB
StandardExperience:Experience in scripting language such as
Javascript, Type Script, PHP, Java, C#Experience with database
queriesExperience with PHP programming language, Selenium
WebDriver, PHPUnit, MySQL, RestAssured or equivalent
API/contract-based testing framework,
GitLabSkills/Abilities:Knowledge of Kubernetes and other related
container/Cloud Native Technologies (CNCF)Ability to work
independently with minimal supervision while contributing to
overall company successUsing tools to replace manual processes with
repeatable automationFull understanding of development release
cycle processWritten and oral communication skillsOrganizational
planning skills with the ability to understand business and client
needsCollaborating with diverse technical teams to hold them
accountable for RCAs and iterative improvementPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe
