Job Description:

The Church Business Executive will focus on managing church resources as well as supporting, coaching and assessing staff to optimize operational capabilities, unify the staff, and provide managerial support for ministry groups.Responsibilities:Relationship to Lead Pastor and Staff - Collaborate with Lead Pastor regarding ministry administration, and implementation of the mission and vision of CrossPointe Church.* Guiding and improving interactions between Lead Pastor, deacons, pastors and other staff members* Assist in organizing and leading regular meetings with staff* Works with Ministry Leaders to develop goals in their ministry areas with measurable milestones to evaluate progress toward established goals* Collaborates with the Lead Pastor to hire, reposition, transition, coach, and remove staff as deemed appropriate by the Lead Pastor* Attends to and works toward resolution of Staff needs and issues prior to involving Lead Pastor* Plans, Coordinates, and Oversees Bi-Annual Pastoral Staff retreat for planning, vision casting, and overall development* Creates an environment for all staff to be creative, feel valued and cared for and to have opportunities to develop* Meets periodically with each Ministry Director and staff; Incorporates staff recommendations for vision implementationMaintains and manages policies and procedures to ensure effective operation of the church.* Reviewing, researching, and creating appropriate policies and procedures* Periodically reviews wage and salary structures, personnel practices and benefits and making recommendations* Presentation of policy and procedure to Staff, Ministry Leaders, and--Lead Pastor, as appropriate, and ultimately to the General Board for final approval as appropriate* Assists in implementation of approved policies and proceduresManages human resources operations while working with the Church Operations Administrator (COA) to:* Maintain personnel records* Administer the performance evaluation system for church staff* Assist with relocation and determining the proper relocation benefits* Research and recommend an appropriate severance policy* Assure the church's compliance with federal and state labor laws. * Coordinate the vacation schedule.* Annually review and update the Employee Handbook Assists in Managing the Annual Budget* Assists in preparing Annual Budget* Works with Church Treasurer, Church Operations Administrator, and Staff to collect information for the Annual Budget* Works with Finance Team to Create an Annual Budget to be recommended to the General Board* Assists in presenting Annual Budget to the General Board for approval* Coordinates the consideration and approval of the Annual Budget by the CongregationAssists staff to manage ministry budgetsWorks with Church Treasurer and COA to provide appropriate internal review and management of church financial records. Supports and works in conjunction with the Finance Team in review of Church Financial matters as requested* Attends and coordinates monthly meetings* Coordinates with Church Treasurer and COA as requested* Provides reports and materials to Finance Team for review and consideration* Prepares Minutes and Agendas for meetings as requested* Assists to plan and promote church stewardship campaign and capital fund drives* Investigates and recommends obtaining or restructuring long or short- term debt financing* May assist in providing monthly financial reports to ministries and committees. Properties Management while working with the COA to:* Direct the church's maintenance program. * Develop and administer policies and procedures concerning the use of all church properties, and facilities.* Assists the church building committees in their work with architects, contractors and others in evaluation, planning, building, remodeling and equipping church buildings. * Coordinate the assignment of classrooms and church facilities for meetings and activities.* Evaluate periodically the insurance needs of the church to report to the Finance Team.* Work with COA to evaluate and assess security systems of the church* Maintenance of--an inventory of church property and equipmentCoordinates and Supports General Board--Activities, as neededAttends and coordinates monthly meetingsCoordinates with General Board Chair to prepare and disseminate AgendaAssembles reports and materials for General Board for review and considerationCoordinates with Board Secretary to prepare Minutes of meetingsRepresent staff on General Board
