The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) reports directly to the
department leader and performs direct patient care activities for
all age groups. The PTA helps Physical therapy patients by
providing rehabilitative services, under the direction of the
physical therapist (PT), to help patients who are recovering from
injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain, they give
therapy through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and
therapeutic modalities. Performs duties and responsibilities in a
manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant
Licensure: Current Oklahoma licensure from the Oklahoma Medical
Board (OMB) as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
Experience: New Graduate Physical Therapy Assistant is eligible
for this position.
Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Other: Demonstrated excellent clinical competence, Ability to
assess patient condition and work with treatment plans, Possesses
up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy
programs, interpersonal team-building, collaboration, negotiation,
problem-solving, as well as spoken and written communication
skills. Must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related
functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by
federal, state, or local law.
Preferred Experience: six (6) months to one (1) year of
experience with experience being for all ages preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Certified by the National Board for
