POSITION INFORMATION: Performs venipuncture and medical testing
on patients, collects specimens, and transports
Venipuncture. Performs venipuncture on patients or study
participants. Processes specimens.
Equipment Maintenance. Maintains equipment associated with
venipuncture. May clean, store, and order such equipment.
Medical Testing. Performs various medical tests such as
Specimen Collection. Collects specimens from adults and children
such as stool and urine.
Transport. Prepares specimens for transport. Labels all samples
and storage tubes, and logs all samples obtained. Transports
specimens to other labs, departments, etc.
- As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully
fulfill the function of the position.
Education: High School Diploma or GED or completed a Phlebotomy
Experience: 6 months experience as a phlebotomist
Equivalent / Substitution: Will accept an equivalent amount of
training and experience
Certifications/Licenses: Licensed Phlebotomist in the State of
Oklahoma or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
date.Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
