Job Summary The job of the Door Fabrication Specialist is to follow safety instructions and training while working.He/she is to demonstrate safety leadership among peers.The individual is to demonstrate the willingness to cooperate, work and effectively communicate with others to improve efficiency within the business as well as participate in continuous improvement teams.The specialist is also to produce accurate, thorough, and neat work. Qualifications Know safety rules Must be able to stand on feet for 8-10 hours a day. Punctual Excellent attendance Team player Must display mechanical inclinations Not intimidated with tools Capable of lifting 50-75 pounds Able to endure temperature extremes Listen to instructions Attention to detail Responsibilities Understand and follows safety guidelines for fabrication tooling Understands and operates punch presses Understands and operates drill presses Understand and demonstrates function of measuring tape to 1/32" Identify all components of a standard door (lock stile/hinge stile, rail, glass) Able to demonstrate understanding and operations of standard, thermal, & rugged doors Identify all parts of a standard frame (lock jamb, hinge jamb, header, threshold) Able to demonstrate understanding and operations of standard, thermal, & rugged frames Able to fabricate and assemble all types of rails. Install full product line of custom hardware. Identifies proper tooling needed for accurate and efficient fabrication Understands and administers preventative maintenance for above tooling Able to assemble hinge stiles. Understand and display proficiency in rail, standard HW and S20 areas Troubleshoot hardware assembly issues. Reading a dispatch list or Sales Order and understands prints necessary to cut material accurately. Display proper use of hand tool. Follows all safety guidelines, including those associated with welding, drill, and ELU machines.
