RN, PACT PRogramOklahoma City, OK+ Apply+ + View All JobsShare This JobJob DescriptionFULL-TIME ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $49,000 - $52,000 PLUS Excellent Benefits!!This position is a member of the PACT multidisciplinary team responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication under the supervision of the staff psychiatrist, obtaining needed laboratory specimens, providing a full range of rehabilitation and support services, and sharing on-call shift management with other PACT staff.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:Provide informal health education, instruction, and counseling to consumers and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and medication information.Draw blood samples for laboratory studies as ordered by the staff psychiatrist and assure prompt delivery of the samples with appropriate lab instructions to Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma.Review laboratory results and present to staff psychiatrist.Maintain current and accurate documentation of all nurse/consumer interactions and services provided including A.I.M.S. exams, according to established agency, state, or federal funding methods and procedures.Administer neuroleptic medications, both orally and by injection, as prescribed by PACT psychiatrist.Monitor and document consumer mental status, adherence to medication protocols, and any side effects of treatment.Order medications for all consumers as prescribed by the PACT psychiatrist.Authorize prescription refill requests from pharmacies within the parameters of physician orders.Receive sample medications, maintain sample log and monitor sample medication for expiration date.Administer sample medications to consumers as prescribed by staff psychiatrist.Conduct initial medication and health assessment of all consumers accepted by PACT, including physical health history, course of illnesses, response to treatment, and family health history.Conduct ongoing psychiatric and physical health assessment of consumers and report to team members during daily staff meetings.Attend daily organizational staff meetings to report consumer status, coordinate treatment activities and to develop treatment solutions.Collaborate with team members in assessment of client physical health, making appropriate referrals to community physicians for further assessment, treatment and coordinating medical treatments with psychiatric treatments.Perform individual, group, and family supportive therapy and illness education in the process of carrying out other consumer activities.Participate in the development of the comprehensive treatment plan and treatment plan reviews for each consumer and attend treatment planning meetings.Prepare and present in-service training to PACT staff regarding current information and basic skills in the treatment of persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses as directed by the Team Leader.Collaborate with the team psychiatrist to develop, revise, and maintain, team psychopharmacologic and medical treatment and medications policies and procedures.Provide case management for consumers in conjunction with primary case manager.Participate in providing substance abuse treatment services in conjunction with staff LADC.Maintain continuing education credits necessary to maintain current certification as a RN and Behavioral Health Case Manager.Meet or exceeds the direct service productivity standard as established and reviewed by the PACT Program Manager/Team Leader.Perform other duties as required and/or assigned by the Program Manager/Team Leader and/or agency staff psychiatrist.Skills & RequirementsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Position requires a current license from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in good standing; demonstration and knowledge of current psychiatric pharmacotherapy; demonstration of general nursing and phlebotomy skills and knowledge about the PACT concept of care.Casual professional dress is required. Must be able to bend, stoop and move about facilities freely, climb stairs, lift up to 30 pounds and sit for extended periods.Must possess and provide verification of a valid Oklahoma drivers license. Must maintain and provide verification of current automobile liability insurance including uninsured motorist coverage. Must possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid and CAPE certifications. Must have current (within past year) TB test; or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare.Must have flexibility in work schedule, including being on-call. Position requires daily travel within the community. For safety purposes and accessibility, NorthCare requires that all Managers carry a cell phone, not to be used while driving. NorthCare does not provide staff with cell phones but provides a monthly stipend to help cover the expense. Amount of stipend varies depending upon full-time or part-time status.Must have and/or complete the Core Level Co-occurring Training and Trauma informed training via NetSmart University within 60 days of employment with NorthCare.Must possess skill in the MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills. Must possess basic computer skills, including ability to login to the NorthCare website and perform general word processing (i.e. typing, spell check, copying, pasting and saving information). Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally with English-speaking consumers.
