Trauma Cente r Overview Oklahoma State University is seeking an
accomplished, mission-driven Emergency Medicine Program Director to
lead its well-established ACGME-accredited EM residency program.
This is a rare leadership opportunity to step into a mature, stable
program with strong institutional support and a planned,
collaborative transition from a long-tenured outgoing Program
Director. The role offers a balanced hybrid model—combining
academic leadership with clinical practice—at a high-volume Level
II Trauma Center serving over 61,000 annual ED visits . Program
Highlights Established OSU Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Fully accredited with ACGME continuation status (February 2025) No
current program citations or Areas for Improvement (OFIs) Robust
Clinical Environment - Level II Trauma Center with >61,000 ED
visits annually Full specialist coverage available at the primary
rotation site Unopposed Training Environment with the exception of
Family Medicine residency at the base site Strong GME
Infrastructure, e xperienced and well-resourced GME leadership and
program support team Established PLAs and a stable, well-structured
rotation schedule Planned Leadership Transition - Outgoing Program
Director is retiring and will provide a warm handoff to ensure
continuity and success Position Responsibilities Provide strategic
and operational leadership for the Emergency Medicine residency
program Ensure full compliance with ACGME Common Program
Requirements Demonstrated knowledge of: Clinical Competency
Committee (CCC), Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), ADS reporting
and milestone assessments Oversee resident recruitment, evaluation,
mentoring, and professional development Support curriculum
development, program growth, and scholarly activity Foster faculty
development and interdisciplinary collaboration Serve as a key
liaison with the sponsoring institution, hospital leadership, and
GME office Required Qualifications MD or DO , Board Certified in
Emergency Medicine ( ABEM or AOBEM ) Eligible for Oklahoma medical
licensure Meets ACGME Program Director eligibility requirements ,
including: Minimum 3 years of core faculty experience in an
ACGME-accredited EM residency Eligible for appointment at the
Assistant Professor level or higher through the sponsoring
university Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as Associate
Program Director or Program Director Demonstrated academic or
operational leadership experience Fellowship training (preferred
but not required) Proven engagement in curriculum development,
research, or program innovation Compensation & Structure Program
Director Base Salary: Approximately $475,000 annually (excluding
benefits) Employment Model: W-2 for Program Director role (includes
benefits) 1099 for clinical emergency department shifts Time
Allocation: 60–70% GME leadership and 30–40% clinical practice in
